Atlas Cloud vs UpCloud

Atlas – Your Icelandic Cloud Provider

Atlas was founded to solve a critical gap in Iceland's tech ecosystem: the lack of locally-hosted, sovereign cloud infrastructure. Atlas comes out of the Startup SuperNova accelerator and is operated from green Icelandic data centers.

The Atlas Cloud is built based on CloudStack, with the service portfolio currently being built up. Basic primitives such as VMs, and storage are in place.

UpCloud – Global Cloud, European Excellence

UpCloud is a European cloud provider headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. UpCloud are operating 15 data centres across 4 continents.

The service portfolio of UpCloud is not the broadest, focusing on the basic cloud primitives such as managed Kubernetes, storage and managed databases, but developer tooling around UpCloud is rich and covers all the typical developer use cases.
